Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both of whom were lawyers. The couple relocated to Oxfordshire at the age of five where she attended at the Dragon School. Emma's goal was to be an actor. When she was six, she joined the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch in which she was taught classes for acting, singing as well as dancing. From the age of 10, she took part and played the leading role in numerous Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was found by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. After eight consecutive auditions, producer David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they were cast for the roles of the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. It beat all previous records on the opening weekend and sales, and it was the top-grossing 2001 film. It was highly acclaimed by reviewers, and so were the performance of three starlets. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British publication, has praised Emma for her performance. Emma received the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in the feature Film. She was later nominated five times for her performance in the movie.
